road rage in fatal crash likely to lead to years in prison

HACKENSACK – A New York man faces 10 years in prison after he was found guilty Wednesday of vehicular homicide in a road-rage crash on the Garden State Parkway that killed his passenger in 2012, The Record reported.
John Emili, 24, of New City, was also found guilty of the motor-vehicle offenses unsafe lane changing and reckless driving but not guilty of racing on a highway, according to the report. A Superior Court judge revoked Emili's bail and ordered him taken into custody.
The July 2012 crash killed Annetta Billingy of Teaneck, who was being driven to church by Emili.
Witnesses saw Thomas Vanderweit of Saddle Brook and Emili driving erratically in the parkway's northbound lanes before the crash, which occurred in Washington Township. Both drivers made frequent lane changes, tailgating each other and speeding before Emili crashed, according to the N.J. State Police.

Vanderweit was convicted in late 2015 and sentenced to six years in prison.
Emili will be sentenced May 13, according to the report.
